You just need to have a good strong motivation to come. Also, really important to contact the companies directly.

More likely to get the internship also. I would say it isn't impossible right now but if you call about, there is a possibility! I don't think so. It depends on whether you can live on a low salary? I don't see it as an issue but for sure, everyone is on holiday in 2 weeks and won't be back until the middle of August so this is really the worst time to look right now.

CaptainBanana View Member Profile. Most jobs require Swedish spoken and written. And that includes the jobs you are asking. Do a search in any Swedish website that offers jobs and you'll see that the vast majority of them require Swedish spoken and written. It's like a non written rule that most people don't know because many foreigners think that with English is more than enough but the reality is you can communicate in English with almost anybody in Sweden, but when it's about finding a job, it is almost impossible to find employment unless you speak Swedish fluently.

Most companies won't even look at you Cv if they see you don't speak Swedish. I have met engineers looking for jobs for two years and with no Swedish spoken and they had to leave because it's like hitting a wall.

The few companies that don't ask for that requirement and are more flexible are usually international companies. Like Volvo and such. There you have the highest chances because they are looking for foreigners and usually English is more accepted in the work place. But the general sentiment in Sweden is that without Swedish you won't be able to work even flipping burgers. I have lived in Sweden for 3 years and I have been even called by recruiters saying that they liked my CV but in order to even consider my application I had to tell them if I spoke Swedish So you get an idea what's like in Sweden.

My job is related to IT. But even those jobs still require Swedish, or at least good conversational level. If you are here anyway, and since you have a Swedish passport, talk to Arbetsformedlingen. But I always had a clear goal to gain experience as a chef, not just pick up any shitty job no one wanted. Job Safari was my main job search engine, would recommend. I managed to find a very good place to work but unfortunately my contract ends in October because that's when they're not busy and no longer need an extra chef.

There are some companies out here British ones but in Stockholm, is mainly finance I would say.
